Visiting the Birdhouse was a wonderful experience. The welcoming warmth of Charles and his family is coupled with extraordinary access to beautiful nature-scapes, from the amazing arbutus trees at their doorstep to the selection of lakes that we swam in while surrounded by forests. East Sooke Regional Park is a short drive away for an awesome coastal hike and beautiful vistas overlooking the Salish Sea. The Birdhouse itself was really fun to stay in. The spacious open concept layout is both clarifying and comfortable, with modern and sleek bathroom and kitchen. It the perfect place for some concentration, creativity and to take a nice deep breath.
